Its all about ‘The Sunday Roast’ at the Red Lion

I am a complete sucker for a Sunday roast dinner but I do find it difficult to find one that tastes “high end”. So when I did….I thought i’d better share it! That way all of you guys based in Birmingham or visiting the area, all get the same enjoyment that I got from finding this hidden gem of a dinner.

If you are a roast dinner addict like me, you know that its always around the £12-14 mark to enjoy a roast dinner on a Sunday without making it yourself, at the general carveries such as Toby’s and other chains such as Sizzler, The Harvester! So I guess your expecting that it would be more expensive at the Red Lion considering it only has one sister company (which is local to it) called The Lord Clifden! You can grab yourself this monster of a Sunday roast for £12.95-£13.95 (unless you want two different meats) which you can guarantee will fill you up and leave you feeling roasted and satisfied!

So lets take a look at part of the menu and how it describes its delicious dinner…

Top Side of British Beef is what I go for and just WOW!!! I mean they are all delicious but I am total melt when it comes to a good piece of beef! As you can see it describes that it is served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding and gravy! Now that description really does not do it justice! Last time I went there I was served beef, roasters, mash, a freakin amazing big daddy yorkshire pud with braised red cabbage in a slightly spice (cinnamon and apple) infused seasoning and finally a carrot and pea medley! The whole amazing combo was topped with the most delicious gravy you have ever tasted!

It was so tasty and memorable that I had to write this blog to tell the WORLD about it!! So if you are ever around the jewellery quarter on a Sunday or in the midlands for that matter….trust me when I say its worth its weight in gold and you have to, have to, have to taste it!!
